Notes
This is entirely based on what was revealed before the series ended.
The World
◦ The world and its geography is entirely made up as per an author's note. However, it does borrow positions from the real-world Catholicism religion. Instead of being a religion based on faith, it's a group centered around science. See "Human" under inhabitants for more information.
◦ The world consists of magical creatures. Though their existence is known, they largely avoid humans, most sharing a dislike for them.
◦ They still share real-world qualifiers such as 'State', 'City', 'Village', Continent', etc.
◦ The only named location is The Holy City, Isutinil. The city houses The Order. As the city was created by 7 saints, those who have the
bloodline of the saints used to be given special treatment but since they had no special ability, that died off.
◦ For ease, I'll name the town the series centers around: Wildefall.
◦ The world itself is made up mana. The ability to manipulate mana allows them to heal, curse, and create magical items. Those with a lot of mana are strong and those with little mana are weak. If too much mana is used, the user will become tired until they rest and recharge.
◦ There is a second power, one different from mana. It's a golden power that only exists in creatures with a certain amount intelligence or travels along the Earth's veins.
Inhabitants
◦ Humans
-Most have no form of magic
-Some are able to manipulate mana. These people either become priests who have the ability to heal or
sorcerers who use their magic to curse
-Humans make up The Order which is considered the ultimate power among them. Though they claim to be for the people,
they perform a lot of questionable actions.
◦ Dragons
-Considered the height of magic
-Are based on elements with each family being named after the element. For example, water dragons are part of the Blue
Family.
-Known abilities: manipulate mana to heal (larger wounds are more difficult, may leave scars, and may still leave a disability);
elemental magic (water dragons can manipulate water, etc); can teleport between portals they create; can send others
through portals they create; can create magical items (if they have the knowledge to do so); can create spells to protect
their lair; disguise themselves as fully human aside from the hair color.
-Are intersex when in dragon form
-Can take on human form, but their hair and eyes remain their natural color. However, their ears remain pointed and their
eyes have slits instead of pupils. Sine they're intersex, they can switch between male and female forms when human.
-Most families don't seem to have more than one hatchling and parents don't bond with them the way human parents do.
-Hatchlings are so rare that all dragons will protect them. If a hunter tries to heart a hatchling, all of the dragons will
hunt him down and destroy the country they came from.
-Once a hatchling becomes an adult, it's considered to be on its own with no help or support.
-Live in lairs and are very territorial.
-Can mate with other magical creatures, but it's rare and a bit shameful.
-Older, more powerful dragons are considered Elder Dragons.
-Communicate via crystals when far away.
-When they give an oath, it's carved into their heart. Breaking their oath results in the destruction of their heart and thus
death.
◦ Elves
-Have very pointy ears. Much more pointy than a dragon's.
-Are able to enchant land they own to allow for shortcuts or to make it impossible to find certain portions.
◦ Cait Siths
-Cats with the ability to become human. In their human form, they look normal save for their eyes.
◦ Werewolves
-More than humans who turn into wolves, they seem to be giant wolves.
◦ Brownies
-Magical creatures that do menial chores.
◦ Demons
-The only creatures that seem to proactively attack humans.
-Can cause curses but aren't above using a sword to kill
-There was once a demon king that seemed powerful enough that no other single creature was able to defeat him. He
keeps coming back.
This is just a list of magical beings and abilities that are actively mentioned. It's likely others exist and that the ability list isn't extensive.
◦ A ring that allows the wearer to remain unrecognizable. Though people will remember seeing them and speaking to them, they'll
never remember the wearer's description. The magic occasionally needs to be recharged. Made by Sherry, worn by Cliff.
◦ An eyepatch that blocks out the secondary 'mana' that Sa-il sees. Made by Sherry, worn by Sa-il
◦ An earring that allows safe travel through Sa-il's woods. Worn by Sa-il and given to those he wishes to help.
